Victim Assistance Psychologist
Trauma-informed online care.

Sensitive, collaborative psychological support for eligible people recovering from violence or trauma through an approved Victim Assist Queensland pathway.

Trauma-informed support after violence

The effects of violence can continue long after the event. People may experience anxiety, low mood, intrusive memories, sleep difficulties, fear, grief, anger, shame or changes in relationships and daily functioning.

Therapy proceeds at a pace that respects safety, choice and control. You do not have to tell the whole story at once. Sessions can focus on stabilisation, coping, understanding trauma responses and gradually rebuilding a sense of safety and connection.

Victim Assist Queensland counselling

Victim Assist Queensland may approve financial assistance for counselling expenses in eligible matters. The approval letter, available amount or sessions, practitioner requirements and any reporting conditions need to be reviewed before funded appointments begin.

Financial assistance is not automatic and may not cover every cost. Fern Up cannot decide eligibility or approve additional sessions; those decisions remain with Victim Assist Queensland.
