Support without judgement or pressure
Domestic and family violence can involve physical or sexual violence, threats, intimidation, emotional abuse, financial control, isolation, stalking, technology-facilitated abuse or coercive control. Its effects can continue during the relationship, separation and long after a person has left.
Counselling provides space to understand what has happened, reduce self-blame, strengthen coping and reconnect with your own needs and choices. You remain in control of what you discuss and what decisions you make.
Safety comes before therapy
Online counselling must not create additional risk. Before arranging telehealth, we consider whether your device, email, call history and physical location are private and safe. Alternative contact arrangements or specialist domestic violence services may be more appropriate in some situations.
Fern Up is not an emergency response service and cannot provide immediate protection, crisis accommodation or legal advice. Where needed, we can support connection with specialised services.
Trauma-informed counselling after abuse
People affected by domestic or family violence may experience anxiety, depression, trauma responses, sleep difficulties, grief, shame, loss of confidence or difficulty trusting others. Treatment is paced carefully and may focus on stabilisation, emotional regulation, boundaries, recovery and rebuilding a sense of identity.
- Individual online counselling for adults
- Safety and privacy considered before telehealth

- Referral to specialist or urgent services where required
